Four games on the cards on the second night of the postseason, hopefully they will match last night's openers in terms of drama.
Reigning Stanley Cup champions the Boston Bruins kick off their campaign to repeat their success at home to the Washington Capitals. With players like Ovechkin and Backstrom the Capitals have the potential to upset anyone so this could be an edgy series for Boston. Washington is 2.50 to secure a Game 1 victory including overtime.
The New York Rangers finished top of the Eastern Conference and their reward is a series against the eighth seeded Ottawa Senators. On face value it looks to be a tough ask for Ottawa however they won three of their four regular season meetings with the Rangers and that will fill them with confidence. That said, there will be deafening noise inside Madison Square Garden; New York are 1.90 to win in regulation.
Four wins in four games against the San Jose Sharks in the regular season sees the St Louis Blues start as big favourites. The Blues are an exceptional home team and if they can continue their form in the high pressure of the play-offs they will be tough to stop. They are 2.85 to overcome a handicap of -1.5 goals.
The last puck drop of the night will be in Phoenix, where the Coyotes face off against the Blackhawks. Chicago have plenty of play-off pedigree amongst their roster but will be coming up against perhaps the hottest goaltender in the league right now in Mike Smith. This one could be extremely tight and is 3.70 to go to overtime.
Best Bet: St Louis Blues with -1.5 handicap at 2.85.
