NHL Betting: Canucks to dethrone the Kings tonight

We're getting to the business end of the first round match-ups, which means desperate teams and frantic games. The three teams on the brink tonight were amongst the favourites for the Stanley Cup two weeks ago and that's why the games have been such a dramatic watch so far.

Seeds of doubt have certainly been planted in the minds of the Philadelphia Flyers as the Pittsburgh Penguins have won two consecutive do-or-die games to pull the series back to 3-2.

The Flyers will without doubt be desperate to settle things tonight at the Wells Fargo Center, as a trip back to Pittsburgh after three straight losses looks a daunting prospect. Whilst I would love to see a Game 7 from a neutral perspective, Philly are good value to win at 2.05 including overtime.

Vancouver are still on the ropes at the hands of the Los Angeles Kings despite picking up a win in Game 4.

The positive news for them is that they have Daniel Sedin back and also seem to have decided on starting Cory Schneider ahead of Roberto Luongo, who has reverted to his almost trademark poor play-off form. I still think LA will progress to the next round, but not tonight. The Canucks are 1.95 to win in regulation.

Boston and Washington are facing off on back-to-back nights, after the Capitals picked up a great and unexpected away win yesterday. The Bruins still start this one as favourites but they haven't shown enough to make you think they can win the next two to progress. Back the Caps at 2.65.

Best Bet: Vancouver Canucks to win in regulation at 1.95 against the Los Angeles Kings.
