Atlantic division rivals Philadelphia and New Jersey are sure to provide an entertaining series in the last second round matchup to get under way. These two played each other six times during the regular season so know each other well and it will be interesting to see who establishes an advantage on the physical side of the game.
Both teams will want to be aggressive but not go over the top like Pittsburgh did against Philly in the last round. New Jersey come in to this one though knowing they have already won twice at the Wells Fargo Center so at 3.30 represent excellent value to pull off a Game 1 upset.
Claude Giroux picked up a massive 14 points in the first round; five more than anyone else, he's such a good all-round hockey player and well worth backing to pick up a point at least.
Meanwhile, Phoenix won yet another overtime game to take the lead over Nashville on Friday, 39 year old Ray Whitney nabbing the goal. Coyotes skipper Shane Doan along with assistant Whitney bring huge experience and leadership qualities to the table as well as their offensive skill, they are a big reason why Phoenix seem to be edging out wins in these tight situations.
Even at this early stage the Predators will not want to go 2-0 down and will come out hungry, but with Mike Smith in their way again I can see a repeat of events two nights ago. Take the options for a three period tie at 3.35 or Phoenix to win including overtime at 2.00
