Momentum has shifted back to the New York Rangers after they picked up an away win against the New Jersey Devils to put themselves 2-1 up in the series. They're still in enemy territory tonight – albeit only making the short trip across the Hudson River – and going after a commanding advantage that would put them on the brink of the Stanley Cup Finals.
As that draws closer and the pressure screw tightens, the verbal sparring has become more tetchy. Brandon Prust is suspended tonight after picking up a one game ban for an illegal hit, causing New Jersey head coach Pete DeBoer to take a pop at him in the media. His opposite number John Tortorella responded by defending his player along with accusing the Devils of diving to draw penalties, something which hasn't gone down particularly well.
Frustration is building for New Jersey: they haven't done an awful lot wrong so far, but find themselves behind and needing a win to stay competitive. Game 3 saw the return of a dominant Henrik Lundqvist for the Rangers, as he picked up his second shutout in three games. The Devils created plenty of chances during that one, but couldn't squeeze any past the Swede.
Betting is close in the build-up to tonight's game, with the home side just edging it at 2.50. The Rangers are at 2.60, but seeing as it has rarely been simple for them so far in these playoffs, I would back New Jersey to tie the series.
Best Bet: New Jersey Devils to win at 2.50.
