On the brink of their first Stanley Cup Finals appearance since 2003, the New Jersey Devils have the chance to seal that place with a victory on home ice tonight. They're up 3-2 against the New York Rangers after a massive win at MSG on Wednesday, giving them two opportunities to take the all-important fourth win. Their respective arenas are less than 14 miles apart, and we've seen the best of their rivalry throughout this series
If Game 5 is anything to go by, tonight's game is going to be a wild one; the Devils leapt out to a 3-0 lead in the first period but the Rangers had hauled it back by 20 seconds in to the third. New Jersey managed to pick it up again though, when Ryan Carted tipped it home to get them back in front before Zach Parise finished it off with an empty net goal.
They wouldn't admit it, but the Rangers must be drained after playing the full seven games in the last two rounds. Tiredness could be beginning to tell now, especially as they play with such high energy. Don't expect them to go quietly off in to the offseason though; nobody within the team and coaching staff will allow that to happen.
New Jersey are favourites for the game at 2.40 with New York back at 2.65. I'm going to sit on the fence, though, and say overtime is on the cards with both teams desperate to get the win.
Best Bet: Devils versus Rangers to tie and go to overtime at 3.65
