If the odds are anything to go by, it looks a tough ask for the three teams in action on the road today. All are up against clubs higher up than them in the standings, starting with Edmonton in St Louis. It was differing fortunes for them last night, with the Oilers thrashing Dallas and the Blues losing to Chicago. If there is an upset today I would think it is most likely to happen here, but I believe the Blues at 1.90 will be fired up in front of their own fans.
Columbus will need to find every little advantage they can against Chicago. They played last Sunday and a lone goal was enough for the Blackhawks - a valiant effort from the Jackets that should give them hope here. After closing out against St Louis, the Hawks have dropped a total of just three points in twenty games, so it'll need a meltdown of epic proportions for them to miss the play-offs. Give Columbus credit and steer clear of the handicap betting, but this has to be another Chicago win at 1.62.
Anaheim are the closest team to Chicago and will be trying to ensure that gap doesn't increase with a win against Minnesota. The Wild improved a poor away record by holding out against Phoenix, but this is a step up in opposition and I'm not sure they will be able to shut this Ducks team down. Anaheim with a -1.5 handicap has been a good option all season by virtue of that offensive prowess. That looks the case again for an increased pay-off of 2.75 over the simple win at 1.95.
Best bet: Anaheim Ducks with -1.5 goal handicap at 2.75
