NHL Betting: Flyers v Devils

Tonight's solitary game is Game 2 of the series between the Philadelphia Flyers and New Jersey Devils, the Flyers are up 1-0 after Daniel Briere scored his second goal of the night in overtime to give them the win. The Flyers are now 4.20 favourites to lift the Stanley Cup, and while there are some good teams remaining, they look very strong right now.

Briere now has seven goals in eight games, tied with team-mate Claude Giroux for the most in the playoffs so far. Considering he had 16 in 70 during the regular season it's a huge step up but that has been feature of the 34 year-old's career, he's a player who relishes the big time. Either of those two would be worth backing to tally, with Giroux at 2.40 and Briere at 3.00.

The Devils won't be too upset about losing on the road, they generated some good chances and will know that they can beat Ilya Bryzgalov. I would personally question whether they have enough at the back to stop arguably the best attacking team remaining, especially with Martin Brodeur starting to show his age a little between the pipes. They will have to tighten up defensively though if they are to take this series.

If the first game is anything to go by, and also the fact that these teams look to score goals, then 2.12 for more than 5.5 total goals in definitely worth a punt for tonight.

Best Bet: Philadelphia Flyers to win in regulation at 2.05
