NHL Betting: Jets To Impress In Front Of New Coach Maurice

Winnipeg Jets 2.55, the Draw 3.85, Phoenix Coyotes 2.40 – BET and STREAM live on Unibet TV from 01.05 GMT

The Winnipeg Jets have new head coach and it's former Carolina and Toronto man Paul Maurice. A rapid hiring-and-firing took place yesterday as their current five-game losing streak spelled the end for Claude Noel.

Maurice will see his opener against Phoenix as a highly winnable game; the Coyotes too haven't found life easy lately with only three wins through their last thirteen games and an inconsistent road side all year. After a most recent successful spell leading a high scoring talented bunch with Magnitogorsk in Russia the new head coach has plenty of offensive threat to work with, Evander Kane could be back in the fold and Bryan Little continues to have his best season to date by some distance.

Neither of these clubs has found defending easy as they both average three goals against per game with little sign of that dropping, going for it has to be the best strategy and a fast paced, physical game should lead to plenty of goals too with over 5.5 at 1.88.  The Jets needed a jolt and a coaching change might be the alteration to provide it, that and Phoenix's optimistic odds based on their own form make Winnipeg worth taking.

Los Angeles Kings 2.00, the Draw 3.75, Vancouver Canucks 3.30 – BET and STREAM live on Unibet TV from 0.35 GMT

Important clashes from the Pacific keep on coming. This will be another as the Kings go for a fourth win over the Canucks this season; the most recent game nine days ago required a third period rally but a deserved success was eventually nailed down by Jeff Carter.

Vancouver did secure a first victory of 2014 over St Louis on Friday and may have reinforcements, but the way they've been outplayed in each of those ties makes them tough to back.

It's difficult to quantify just how valuable Anze Kopitar has been to LA but simply put he's been flat outstanding, despite being fifth in ice time amongst forwards and playing more minutes shorthanded than any other star forward only 29 goals have been conceded with him out there, the Sedin twins have a difficult task matched up against the Slovenian tonight and have come out on the wrong side of their earlier line duels.

For me that's crucial when the Canucks will look to their top unit to make some happen in a slugfest and I'd be confident enough to take LA over the -1.5 handicap at 2.80.

Best Bet: Winnipeg Jets to win at 2.45.
