Without a doubt the highlight game this Sunday is the clash between two of the Eastern Conference powerhouses the Boston Bruins and Pittsburgh Penguins. Boston had the measure of the Pens for most of their meeting last Tuesday but contrived to lose a two-goal lead in the final ten minutes, Brandon Sutter proving the difference maker for Pittsburgh as they extended their winning streak. 3.00 on a Boston victory today is good value as they are unlikely to make the same mistake again. If anyone can halt this Penguins march it is them.
The Winnipeg Jets have taken off in recent weeks, dropping only one point from the last twelve available, and going to the top of the Southeast Division. They'll compete against the Ottawa Senators tonight, another club looking good for the play-offs and surprising many in the process. Both sides went beyond regulation in getting wins yesterday. I think Winnipeg in regulation at 2.75 is definitely worth a go, though including overtime and shootout is the safer option at 2.06.
Buffalo and Washington are still slugging it out in the lower reaches of the Eastern Conference and as their situation becomes more desperate, the more games like this against other struggling teams matter. Buffalo will believe they aren't too far off breaking out after being edged in overtime or a shootout numerous times lately, but their powerplay is abysmal and they allow too many shots at the other end. Washington's mini-revival at the turn of the month has evaporated quickly - they now have just one win in five and more offensive struggles. On the plus side they've already defeated Buffalo at Verizon Center this year, so take Washington for the win and a huge two points at 2.15.
Best bet: Winnipeg Jets to win at 2.75
