The San Jose Sharks are on the block tonight hoping a series trend of home wins continues as they try to force Game 7 versus the Los Angeles Kings. All five games to this point have seen the hosting team take the victory, so the higher-seeded Kings lead 3-2. Most recently LA skated their way to a 3-0 win on Thursday thanks to a really strong effort, and they've looked more likely than the Sharks to be able to produce a road victory. Both games at HP Pavilion have seen San Jose win by just a single goal.
A word on Jonathan Quick, who is once again posting ridiculously good numbers when it really matters and had his second shut-out of the series three days ago. It's unfair to say he is carrying the team when their skaters work so hard in defence, but his superb performances are the reason the Kings are now seen as the most likely winners of the West. You can get 3.15 on Quick to hold the Sharks to under 1.5 tonight. Antti Niemi in the opposite net is doing a great job too. For the two of them it's been more a case of making timely saves than stopping barrages of shots. Back another low-scoring game tonight with under 4.5 total goals at 1.90.
From early on it looked like a deciding game would be needed to separate these two, but I'm leaning towards LA sneaking it tonight. They've been working the Sharks physically in every game by dominating the hit count - that may start taking it's toll. San Jose's powerplay has been key during their wins; they've really struggled to score when LA have limited their opportunities or killed them off effectively. Back the Kings including overtime at 2.08.
Best bet: Under 4.5 total goals at 1.90
