NHL Betting: The LA Kings can rule over the Minnesota Wild

Anaheim Ducks - Winnipeg Jets

I'm not sure we can fully gauge where Anaheim are at in their postseason preparations because their latest upturn of seven points from four games has come against teams on the outside.

Winnipeg won at Honda Center back in January and the Ducks have lost over half of their home games since that defeat. A difficult road trip for the Jets has seen them escape with the points from San Jose and in their current situation they should be fired up to upset once again.

Some spectacular tallies are only making Blake Wheeler's current production blitz even more highlight-worthy. They're a sporadic offensive team at the best of times but have enough high end, talented forwards to do it more often.

In the opposing locker room Ryan Getzlaf looks well set in second place behind Crosby for scoring although is doubtful to ice tonight. Already the absence of defencemen Cam Fowler has hurt them, particularly with his ability to handle the puck.

In the double chance betting you can get a draw or Jets win through regulation at 2.06, if the outright Winnipeg win at 4.15 is too much of a stretch.

Los Angeles Kings - Minnesota Wild

Imposing streaks seem to be LA's thing since coming back from the Olympics as they've racked up a second six-plus winning sequence for the second time in a month.

In between that was a dodgy week of home losses but that can soon be forgotten as play-off qualification is within their grasp. Who they'll face remains uncertain for now largely because the Wild could force them down into a wildcard spot.

A 3-1 success against Phoenix was a boost towards just that for Minnesota, however each one this month has been followed up by at best consecutive defeats. Although Marian Gaborik is yet to show his best at Staples Center, the Slovak's arrival at the trade deadline does coincide with their goals for average creeping up.

There's also been a forwards reshuffling from Darryl Sutter which has led him to four units that can all pose different questions. For Minnesota, when their regular threat comes from just their top two lines it makes it difficult for them to gain up a head of steam.

When both matchups already this season went to shootouts the tie is tempting, but LA are in great shape, so take the Kings over the handicap.
