Pittsburgh's win streak has now reached 15 games and spanned the entire month of March. As a result, they are clear at the front of the Eastern Conference.
The Penguins can extend the run tonight against the Buffalo Sabres but must do it without the NHL's leading point scorer Sidney Crosby, as once again they've lost their captain to injury.
Crosby was struck in the face by a wayward slapshot in their last game and suffered a broken jaw - subsequent surgery has him out indefinitely.
Buffalo are winless in four and reportedly willing to part with anyone on their roster apart from Thomas Vanek before tomorrow's trade deadline. Missing a player the calibre of Crosby obviously has an effect, yet with their recent additions the Penguins are still extremely strong and the streak should continue at 1.72.
Next up is the Sunshine State battle between the Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning, with the Bolts definitely holding bragging rights, after three wins from the three against the Panthers this season.
Despite their lowly positions in the East, both come in after back to back home wins. There's usually goals when these two face off, mostly because of their porous defences, so take on over 5.5 at 1.80.
Tampa have had success over their neighbours because of their ability to dominate 5 on 5 and that's unlikely to change, with Florida the worst even strength team in the league. The Lightning are 2.80 with a -1.5 handicap.
Los Angeles versus Phoenix closes out tonight's fixtures. A fifth and final duel of a pair of clubs at opposite ends of the West's scramble for the play-offs.
With the bottom two probably out of contention, Phoenix are next on the chopping block. The Coyotes have done OK picking up some points in the last few games, but overall are on a run of one win from nine. LA have margin for error in 5th and a six point gap, though it doesn't look like they'll need it on current form. Back the Kings at 2.20.
Best Bet: Tampa Bay Lightning with -1.5 handicap at 2.80
