NHL Betting: Minnesota to run wild over Edmonton

The Philadelphia Flyers are fresh off scoring seven goals last night in Montreal and have made the quick trip back home to host the New York Rangers.

That result helped keep the Flyers' slender play-off hopes alive, though to have any chance it looks like they might have to win all of their remaining games.

The Rangers on the other hand will give themselves a four point cushion with a victory. Seeing as everything is on the line for Philly here and taking into account their very good home record, I think they are really good value at 2.95.

We're starting to see the real Vancouver Canucks at the right time in the season and they will want to move closer to locking up the North West Division yet again, by beating the St Louis Blues.

Typically, the Canucks recent positive results coincided with some hot form for the Sedin twins, who have scored 18 points between them in six games.

The Blues have been unpredictable all year and have now dropped two straight since their six game win streak ended.

They've scored just five goals over the past five games and their offense has to step up, as they’re currently positioned in a vulnerable seventh place in the West. I can see Vancouver stealing an away win here, so back them at 2.90.

Edmonton became the first team to change their General Manager this season, with Steve Tambellini losing his job after their recent capitulation.

Craig MacTavish is his replacement. Since putting eight past Calgary, the Oilers have lost all five games and scored four goals. With a new man to impress it'll be interesting to see if it affects their performance against the Minnesota Wild today. Their forwards have to move the puck quicker if they want to start hitting the net again.

Minnesota took a very important two points last time out and trade deadline day acquisition Jason Pominville is finding his feet in a Wild jersey with a couple of two point nights. Already with two wins from two over Edmonton this season, take Minnesota at 2.65.

Best Bet: Minnesota Wild to win at 2.65
