NHL Betting: Nashville To Prey On Powerless Calgary

Columbus Blue Jackets 2.30 Draw 3.70 Dallas Stars 2.80

A 2-0 record for Columbus has given them plenty of early positivity that they could be major players in the Metropolitan Division.

In contrast the Stars haven't had the first week they wanted and have landed just a point though the lack of offence likely feels more disappointing.

Cam Atkinson had the game winning goal in both Jackets games which gives a distorted picture of the depth of their attack as they appear to be a strongly unified group.

There's also the early signs suggesting Sergei Bobrovsky could be back to his Vezina Trophy winning form of 2013 which can only be good news moving forward in Ohio.

Dallas need to rediscover the free flowing, skill based game that suits them though I'm not sure the road is the best place to find it especially based on how they did on Saturday.

Last season too much onus was placed on Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin to lead the way but this time around they're waiting for those two to get off the mark. It's the easy choice to take the home side with momentum here at 2.30.

Nashville Predators 1.90 Draw 4.20 Calgary Flames 3.35

Nashville are looking to stay perfect as their opening homestand comes to a close, wins over Ottawa and Dallas have given them a solid starting point to the season.

I think it'll continue too against a Calgary team that probably doesn't have the power to break them down especially due to the way Predators goalie Pekka Rinne has started his campaign.

Although the Flames are off the mark thanks to a win in Edmonton they've been outplayed in each of their other contests and also lost last season's best scorer Jiri Hudler to injury.

Quite a few new faces moved into Music City this offseason such as James Neal and Mike Ribeiro however it's been the longer serving Eric Nystrom and skipper Shea Weber getting it done early on.

Filip Forsberg has also give them an offensive boost with three assists, whilst the Swede has had an interesting professional career up to now he has the talent to be the gamebreaker this franchise has needed for a while.

Similar praise could be handed out to Joe Colborne and Sean Monahan but I feel the Flames need a bit more time to develop before they breakout. Confidence is clearly high for the Predators and I don't see Calgary bringing them down.
