Boston Bruins at St. Louis Blues
After doing all the hard work and getting themselves into a relatively comfortable position the Bruins have slacked off possibly to their cost. With Florida now only a point behind and no win in five Claude Julien's men are back where they were earlier in the season - looking for some answers. Their defence has regressed most noticeably with at least three goals conceded in each of those tilts, the penalty kill has to take some responsibility for that.
A potential side plot today will be if Malcolm Subban makes his NHL debut, the goalie already carries a profile because of his brother PK in Montreal but is highly thought of for a reason. St. Louis gave themselves too much to do going down early against Dallas last time out but still have one of the best last ten records in the Western Conference. Like most complete sides they do an excellent job converting on scoring first and with their combination of skill and size up front can keep the pressure on in a number of ways.
Both sides have that physical element so it could get feisty, the Blues have the special teams to make that work for them. Either way I'll be backing St. Louis to get this one done.
Best Bet: St. Louis Blues to win at 2.05.
