New Jersey took the initiative and a 2-1 lead in their matchup against the Philadelphia Flyers when Alexei Ponikarovsky buried one in overtime to finish Game 3. The Devils look to be more than capable of containing Philly as the series progresses too, their top line of Giroux, Jagr and Hartnell have been quiet in the last two games especially and also have the worse plus minus ratings of any Flyers forwards.
What happens in this game could well depend on New Jersey's continued success in that area and whether they can continue to neutralise the Flyers attacking threats, it's a close call with New Jersey at 2.50 and Philadelphia at 2.60.
Meanwhile the LA Kings are still cruising against the St Louis Blues, they saw out a 4-2 win on Thursday and now lead 3-0 in the series. The Blues are just being bettered in all areas of the ice and only have 5 goals over the three games compared to LA's 12. Now back at odds 9.00 to go through to the next round, they have to win four straight to stay alive.
Although his numbers aren't great, it would be harsh to place blame at the hands of Brian Elliott, his team haven't been good in front of him and duelling with Jonathan Quick in this form would make anyone look bad.
The Kings have gone from being the bottom seed in the West to the most likely Stanley Cup winners from the conference. Their doesn't seem to be a way back for St Louis as they have been so thoroughly dominated, back LA to complete the sweep at 2.35 or overturn a -1.5 handicap at 3.20.
Best Bet: Claude Giroux to not score a point at 2.25.
