Nashville finally showed up against the Phoenix Coyotes on Wednesday to pull the series back to 2-1 and avoid dropping to a very dangerous deficit. They were aggressive on the forecheck early on forcing two turnovers in the Coyotes zone in quick succession which both led to goals, from then on it was the kind of defensive hockey that got them past Detroit.
Phoenix didn't play badly however, they just came up against a goaltender in Pekka Rinne who knew he had to step it up from the first two games. If you're a team like Nashville that can't regularly blow teams away in the goal column your goalie has keep you in it, the differences in results between Games 2 and 3 show the significance of an on form Rinne in this series.
Individual scoring has been shared throughout both teams without any guy standing out. It's not been a good series so far for Preds captain Shea Weber, he's a excellent defenseman but 1.70 is also good value on him not scoring a point.
Now they have a foothold in the series, Nashville will look to kick on and get it done again tonight. Phoenix are still favourites to go through at 1.58, they can afford to take some chances in this one knowing even if they lose again they have two games at home to fall back on.
You can also get odds of 2.80 on the Predators repeating their two goal winning margin and overturning a -1.5 handicap, it seems unlikely that Phoenix will let that happen again though.
Best Bet: Nashville Predators to win in regulation at 1.95.
