Just 30 miles separate the arenas of the NY Islanders and the New Jersey Devils. It is the Isles who will make that short trip tonight, for their second meeting of the season.
New Jersey have the upper hand after snatching a tight 2-1 road win on that occasion. They remain unbeaten in regulation play throughout their five games so far.
Whoever emerges with the victory here will move to the top of the Atlantic division. This is something that few expected the Islanders to be in contention for. They've been a pleasant surprise this season and a win for them at 3.30 is a real possibility.
Elsewhere, the Pittsburgh Penguins will face-off against New York's first team, the Rangers. Again it won't be the first time these two have butted heads this year and the Rangers are seeking payback for the 6-3 loss they were handed 11 days ago.
Interestingly, since that game it's been the Pens who have struggled and picked up just a single win. For that reason, take the resurgent Rangers who are on a three game streak at Madison Square Garden, at 2.35.
Over 5.5 total goals at 2.00 also looks good value, in a tie that usually produces plenty of offense.
Switching to the West, the Los Angeles Kings finally seem to be coming to terms with the fact that they’re Stanley Cup Champions.
Consecutive wins would suggest they're over their dodgy start to the campaign, but they already find themselves well adrift of division leaders San Jose, so there's still a way to go for the Kings.
Nashville visit Staples Center tonight in similar circumstances, but without momentum, after being shutout by Phoenix on Monday. I think this could be a safe home win for the Kings at 2.05.
Best Bet: New York Rangers to win at 2.35
