Last night's game may have been short on goals, but it provided plenty of drama as Washington knocked out the reigning champions Boston. Tonight's action will hopefully live up to that, particularly with the Ottawa Senators in search of a major upset against the New York Rangers. The other decider is the Florida Panthers against the New Jersey Devils and as yesterday showed perfectly, it's not always the home team favourite that comes out on top.
New York were expected by many to brush Ottawa aside prior to the beginning of the playoffs but the Rangers haven't had it all their own way. On Monday they were playing for their postseason lives and salvaged a victory, it remains to be seen whether the Senators will be ruing missing the chance to seal it at home.
Despite the fact that Ottawa already has two wins at Madison Square Garden, New York still deservedly start as favourites at 1.95. This hasn't been a high scoring series, so like last night going for fewer than 5.5 total goals is a good option at 1.52.
New Jersey too were facing elimination in Game 6 and managed to stay alive, Travis Zajac was again a big factor and he grabbed the deciding goal in overtime. This has been the hardest of the first round match-ups to predict, but I think New Jersey will come out on top at 2.50, a safe bet though would be to go with Florida with a +1.5 handicap.
Best Bet: Fewer than 5.5 total goals in New York versus Ottawa at 1.52
