Detroit showed they have what it takes to go toe-to-toe with the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday as they reversed the Game 1 scoreline to take a 4-1 victory and tie the series at 1-1.
It was a rude awakening for the Hawks as it was only the second time they'd been defeated by at least a three goal margin this year. We switch over to Motor City for tonight's clash at Joe Louis Arena giving the Wings a great chance to take the lead. It's also the first time we've seen Chicago under genuine pressure all season, nobody else had managed to shut down their attack so effectively.
Henrik Zetterberg's superb form has continued through from the final weeks of the regular season. Detroit's captain is leading from the front in a big way with nine points spanning his last five games.
Valtteri Filppula's confidence and he has scored in two of the last three games, he's a good outside shout to score at 4.50. For Chicago Jonathan Toews has really struggled when matched up against the Zetterberg line, although Toews is yet to score in the postseason it would be trademark for him to pop up in adversity. His lack of goals has seen him drop out to 3.75 to net tonight from as high as 2.75 earlier in the playoffs.
The odds still have Chicago installed as favourites at 2.30, rightly so as they've been equally successful on the road. I can't help but think that Detroit are excellent value out at 2.85 though, after the way they knocked the Hawks off their game last time it's going to be very interesting from here on out. Take the Red Wings with overtime included at 2.10.
Best bet: Detroit Red Wings to win including overtime at 2.10.
