NHL Betting: San Jose Sharks to get Bitten in Overtime

Pittsburgh Penguins vs Toronto Maple Leafs

Days after being stuffed 6-0 by Columbus in their own arena, the Toronto Maple Leafs have blown into Pittsburgh only two points behind the Penguins in the standings.

Pittsburgh have spent most of the month away from Consol Energy Center and, as a result, are a pretty average 6-5-1 in November. Last time out Sidney Crosby salvaged overtime with 0.3 seconds left in a duel to top the conference with Boston but couldn't turn it around completely for both points.

These two did face off last month and a Maple Leafs home victory was secured on the back of a huge performance from the goalie. Injuries to both Dave Bolland and the now returned Tyler Bozak definitely hurt Toronto's momentum, with guys like James van Riemsdyk temporarily shifted into center.

Now their emotional leader Joffrey Lupul will sit out a few games. The Leafs and netted only three times in the process so I can't see them clipping the Pens, make it a -1.5 handicap against Pittsburgh for 2.40.

San Jose Sharks vs Los Angeles Kings

Plenty of eyes will be on San Jose versus Los Angeles with two of the West's leading clubs and divisional and state rivals going toe-to-toe in what is an enticing matchup.

LA's overtime win in their first clash at the end of October sent the Sharks into a tailspin of four further losses, which has been the only time they've lost back-to-back.

You'd have to go back ten games to find the last instance of the Kings losing out in regulation - during that spell they averaged 1.20 goals against and being just a little more clinical would make them very hard to stop at all.

Although this is a rivalry game I'd expect most of the antagonising to come from the Kings' direction, with their harder hitting and more physical gameplan, San Jose have spent fewer time than any team killing penalties so normally they know how to rise above it although proceedings definitely got a bit nasty to their detriment in the previous encounter.

Always a bold call to go up against the Sharks, but LA are great value for this one at 2.45 covering overtime or a shootout.

Best Bet: Los Angeles Kings to win including OT at 2.45
