NHL Betting: Senators to leave Islanders stranded

The New York Islanders have the unwanted tag of being the worst home team in the league after just two wins from eleven games at Nassau Coliseum. Ottawa are the next gladiators looking to escape with a victory tonight. It's a shame for the Islanders, who have been a different side on the road, with plenty of offensive potential. Ottawa may have had a tough couple of days with some tight losses but they are still riding high, making them well worth a go here at 2.95 against their struggling opponents.

Columbus pushed Chicago close again on Friday but came up short in overtime. The big story ahead of their game tonight is on the other side of the puck, though, courtesy of the Colorado Avalanche. Ryan O'Reilly will return to their line-up for the first time this season after a long running contact saga too complex to explain here - he was the Avs' top point scorer last year so it's a big boost. Nevertheless this is a winnable game for Columbus if they can produce another committed performance, as Colorado have not been great on the road. Take them at 2.70.

Carolina thrashed Florida 6-2 at home last night but there won't be much time for the Panthers to lick their wounds; the venue has switched and they're straight back at it this evening. A lot has changed since Florida beat Carolina on opening night - the Panthers lie bottom of the Southeast while the Hurricanes lead it. The odds are tied at 2.50 so chalk this one up for an away Carolina victory and a bad couple of days for Florida.

Best bet: Ottawa Senators to win at 2.95
