NHL Betting: Senators to ship more goals against Columbus

Boston Bruins vs Dallas Stars

It's another high profile former club showdown in Boston tonight as Tyler Seguin returns to TD Garden as a member of the Dallas Stars

The odds on his return being successful are long but the Bruins haven't been too impressive in the past week or so, taking one from four outings.

A change in scenery has clearly done Seguin the power of good as he leads the Stars with 15 points and, at his best, is far more dynamic than any player the Bruins possess. Patience appeared to run out though as his old organisation and city's media had no issue in publicly condemning Seguin for his alleged off ice lifestyle before dealing him.

Unfortunately the other major name that went the other way in that trade - Loui Eriksson - is yet another concussion victim out indefinitely, and the Bruins could well do with his scoring touch at the moment. For Dallas, the majority of their road losses came without Kari Lehtonen and the Finn is superb at keeping them in games late, so back them to spring a surprise out at 2.70 including OT.

Ottawa Senators vs Columbus Blue Jackets

Both Ottawa and Columbus can be accused of not managing to maintain the momentum they had built up last season as neither is making the case that they are guaranteed playoff participants like many expected.

To be fair to the Blue Jackets, their progress has been abruptly halted by a back-to-back with conference leaders Pittsburgh, where they lost both games relatively comfortably but previously had been doing well at home against less explosive teams.

November has yielded a couple of points for the Senators so far both by shootout losses. They've only won one of their previous seven though and are failing to find a cure for shipping goals.

Robin Lehner faced a staggering 57 shots against the NY Islanders last Friday and whilst the Jackets might be less skilled they do have the grit and size to establish extended time in the offensive zone. If the Senators continue to play it fast and loose I think Columbus can grind this one out at 2.20.

Best Bet: Columbus Blue Jackets to win at 2.20.
