NHL Betting: Toronto to win battle of Ontario

As nothing separates the Toronto Maple Leafs from their fellow Ontarians the Ottawa Senators after 23 games, one of them can edge clear by coming out on top at Air Canada Centre tonight.

Ottawa's long list of injuries has prompted the promotion of more physical fringe players, which may help them stand up to the physical challenge that the Maple Leafs propose, but is having a negative effect in terms of the quality of their play.

Nazem Kadri had been a source of much frustration for Toronto in his first couple of seasons but he's producing in a big way for them now, scoring some spectacular goals in the process. The Sens have just one win in their last nine games away from home, so take the Leafs at 2.05.

The Chicago Blackhawks’ remarkable run of picking up at least a point from every game is still rumbling on almost halfway through the season. They've won their last ten games and are a mighty 17 points clear in their division.

You wondered if the Hawks' streak may be under threat last night when Minnesota took an early lead, but by the end of the first period it was already emphatically turned round to a 4-1 Chicago win.

Colorado will have two chances finally inflict a loss on them over the coming days, whether they are up to that task is doubtful. The Avs competed well in Detroit but ultimately were beaten by a better team and you have to figure the same will occur here. Go for Chicago with a -1.5 handicap at 2.33.

Anaheim and Phoenix's triple header concludes at Honda Center, after a pair of almost identical 5-4 shootout wins for the Coyotes in the two preceding match-ups.

Those results have been huge for Phoenix in the thick of a congested Western Conference, yet not totally disastrous for the Ducks, as the OT loss points have maintained their healthy gap ahead of third place. The scoreline surely won't be repeated but if you're tempted another 4-4 regulation tie is at 28.00. The more likely Phoenix win, including overtime, is good value at 2.24.

Best Bet: Toronto Maple Leafs to win at 2.05
