All but two teams are in action Thursday night in what promises to be a monumental night of action on the ice. With play-off spots still up for grabs in both conferences the stand out games in terms of importance would seem to be in Washington and Los Angeles.
The Capitals host the Panthers at the Verizon Center needing to win to maintain 8th spot ahead of the Buffalo Sabres whilst Florida needs just a point to secure qualification. With this much on the line I can see the game being tight and ending tied after regulation at 3.85.
It is a similar situation for the Kings and Sharks in the last game of the day, though they both have a bit of breathing space from the chasing pack. LA won comfortably when they last met two weeks ago but since they're playing each other on Saturday as well, neither team will want to concede an inch tonight. This is another game where overtime could be needed to decide the outcome.
There will as always be no love lost between the Penguins and the Rangers when they face-off in their final meeting of the season. Pittsburgh has won the last three in the series by a couple of goals and on home ice advantage are favourites, but they have a chance of overturning the handicap bet of -1.5 (there is good value on this as well at 2.60) Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin have been dominating games of late and both of them are always solid picks to score.
Best Bet: Capitals and Panthers to be tied after regulation at 3.85.
